What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Like most website operators, Bianca Smith collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Bianca Smith’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Bianca Smith’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Bianca Smith may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
Bianca Smith also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blogs. Bianca Smith only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to Bianca Smith’s websites choose to interact with Bianca Smith in ways that require Bianca Smith to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Bianca Smith gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who comment on our blog to provide a username and email address. Those who wish to receive hashtag holidays via email, we collect their emails. In each case, Bianca Smith collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Bianca Smith. Bianca Smith does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
