The Glass Ceiling

glass-ceilingI just wrote a great post on how I think the glass ceiling is a myth. It was inspired by a conversation with a colleague.

As I was finishing it off, I realised that I would have no credibility posting it. I’m a single woman without children.

However, the glass ceiling isn’t just an excuse mums use. There are hindrances in everyone’s careers: education, qualifications, experience, location, etc. Sometimes that hindrance is our own lack of confidence. And even with expanding the definition I still say the glass ceiling is a myth.

So next time something is blocking your path to success, how are you going to get around it? Don’t make a belief in the glass ceiling be a self-fulfilling prophecy. And if you need an extra push, here are some tips.
