The 2013 WordCamp Seattle was an early start, but always worth getting up for. Thanks to the organizers, volunteers, speakers and attendees who made it such an informative and fun day.

What is WordCamp Seattle?

WordCamps are casual, locally-organized, non-profit conferences covering everything related to WordPress, the free and open source content-management software that powers over 75 million sites on the web. WordCamps come in all different flavors, based on the local communities that produce them, but in general, WordCamps include speakers presenting on topics ranging from basic WordPress tips to serious development tools and strategies. The types of sessions typically seen at WordCamps can be viewed online on

The Seattle WordPress community has a strong meet-up community. I recommend joining one of their sub-groups.

  1. Yes, there was a nice fruit array for breakfast. I love the organizers evened out the fruit and the not-quite-healthy stuff.

I know!! The screen was excellent. If I remembered it later in the day I would have taken more photos with my phone to send straight up there. The excellent coffee cups are in the final post. It may go live tonight, but more likely in the morning. Our internet at home sucks in the evenings. Long story, essentially I need to move house.
